Waking up this morning I knew today was going to be a busy day. For one thing, there was going to be a late afternoon Saints game. During this time my family likes to get together to cheer on our favorite boys. Well for me, I was not feeling like getting out my bed. I wrestled with staying in bed versus going to church for about 45 minutes. My husband came in to wake me up, but still I did not budge. Next, I saw him putting on his clothes and coming in to tell me what time we needed to be leaving. However, I still laid in bed. After wrestling some more, I thought about the rest of my day and all that I had to do. Then I was reminded that today was Communion Sunday, and that really got my attention. Thinking about my Heavenly Father and all that He has done for me on the cross reminded me of His love for me. Given a love like this was all the reason I needed to be reminded of who do I love? He first loved me, and I do it all for Him. That’s my love!
We’ve made it to the start of another school year. Wow does time go by so fast when you’re having fun. For some, long mornings to sleep like you’re on vacation everyday. While others take in a few summer classes or a job. Whatever the situation, it was different than your typical Monday through Friday that occur during August to June. Getting prepared for the school year rears you into shopping, doctors visits and last minute school paperwork. It is one of those things that reminds you the job is never finished. When the bell sounds we get back in the groove of things.
I believe when we’re starting an assignment we are equipped to handle everything that comes our way, eventhough we may not look forward to it. I remember when starting school it was a rush of emotions because of the preparation involved. Being excited to see friends, but not too excited to hit the books. As I got older, the preparation was still a rush of emotions, but later feelings turned to accomplishing the next mission. What a huge deviation?! Regardless, it came over time just how our relationship with God develops over time.
We are all on a mission to fulfull our purpose. Each one is different, but it’s for the greater good. I hope that regardless what task is presented to us that we run our race and don’t let it run us. The bible says in Ecclesiastes 9:11,
The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.
When in doubt, confused, disappointed, discouraged or just feeling overwhelmed, just pray and stand still and watch God move. He will direct your path even when the bell sounds.
