To reflect on my week I have gotten messages on not taking life for granted. Mean what you say and just step out on faith. Don’t let fear consume you because it was designed to distract, disappoint and discourage. So, realizing when the spirit of fear comes to tell me who I am not, remember who I am. I am a conqueror, forgiven and loved. We all make mistakes, and it’s by God’s grace that we can try again.
My current situation is making sure I get all of our items packed by the end of the week. As much as I am looking forward to this new adventure, I do not like packing.
Thank God for organization, because without this I don’t know where I’ll be. Each day I have been able to do a little packing. Sorting through alot of items that I did not think was still around was challenging. Some of the items I found I thought were lost forever. However, there is one particular item that I am waiting to magically appear, but that’ll take a miracle for me. That item is my wedding ring. Finding items during this move brought back alot of memories, some that were near and dear to my heart. It’s like the little kid losing his favorite show and tell item at school, and that kid goes to the lost and found and sees his favorite item.
I’m so glad that we serve a God of another chance, because our relationship with God is just so. We may have thought we had lost touch with Him, but we realized He’s been there the entire time waiting for us to turn to Him.
Welcome to another year filled with hope, love, peace, joy and so much more. It’s a fresh start to something greater than oneself. You’ve been given the opportunity for a new start to grow in areas beyond measure. God makes all things new. He will provide and take care of all. He knows the desires of your heart, so let Him guide you. God will never lead you wrong.
Recently, my husband and I found out that we will be moving to another city. He received a job opportunity that was unquestionable due to presentation of the offer. It’s like when you know something is for you, all you can do is go for it! For myself I have been given the opportunity to work in the school setting, something I never imagined, but I’m going with it. I know that God is setting me up for the vision He has provided me. Everything that I’ve done up to now has shown me this, and I’m continuing to walk into my purpose. This new beginning came right on time.
I know this won’t be the only beginning just wait and see. I’ll look forward to hearing more from you and all that God has done for you in the months to come. Keep pushing! Pray until something happens, and He will show you! My prayer is that God will show himself more in our lives, and that we will spend more time with Him. He will be our friend when we are friendless and give us joy when we’re joyless. Just keep the faith and pursue Him, not just when we need Him, but just because. In Jesus name, Amen.
This is my favorite time of the year as we await to celebrate the birth of Jesus. We have heard countless times the story of Mary and her baby being born in a manger. This story fills your heart as you hear of the many miracles that were performed during that time. It is amazing to learn about the coming of our Savior, for He is the reason we all have so much faith in this miraculous time that we are preparing for. No matter what maybe going on, whether good or bad when you stop and think about all there is to be thankful for, it will bring you to a place of gratitude. Many of us can say we have not been to this unfamiliar place of Bethlehem where Jesus was born. However if we can only imagine this place during that time it will be a sight to see. To me this place would be serene and peaceful. This type of place we don’t get to bask in often. So during this time when faced with a challenge, stop and think about that place that is so unfamiliar such as Bethlehem. It will bring you back to why we celebrate during this time the miraculous birth that changed so many lives.
Remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season.
With Christmas and New Years not long away, we feel the pressure to get our to-do list completed. The hustle and bustle of going to the store and picking up last minute items can be a lot to handle. We feel excited with the smell of our Christmas trees and holiday scents. However somethings will never change, but others I beg to differ.
After retrieving the holiday decorations from the storage, I realized some of the decor was still in tact. However after shopping I could not help but to retrieve some new items. Although purchasing these new decorations did not hinder me from using the past items, it only helped to bring a little more sparkle for the holidays.
In light of the holidays there is so much that goes along with this season. Needless it is more than anything that we can purchase from any store. This is a gift that will bring hope, joy, peace and love that we can receive more than anything we could ever imagine. Throughout the year there is so much that takes place that we can get taken out of focus. However the gift that we will all receive is something unforgettable and timeless. During this time we reminisce about the year and holidays past. However, one thing we will not forget is the reason for this season.
It started with getting ready for loved ones to gather while we made our last-minute grocery run. The kitchen was full of different aromas from the food prepared that we chowed down on. As we reflected on the year, we remembered all those who are no longer with us. We remembered all the good and not so good things, and through all of it we still gave thanks. At the table we heard the stories of what we are thankful for. This is the time of year to pour out our hearts and give of ourselves love, peace and joy.
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
3 A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
4 A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
7 A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
8 A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV
I am glad this was given to me, especially when I have so many questions for God. Faced with the challenges of life brings you to your knees. I see myself praying or just calling on His name, because I am desperately waiting. In other times, I wonder if I am doing something wrong. In these times, I have to find my way to Him. It is not easy all the time, but I am thankful for not staying in the uneasiness.
In the seasons of life when we’re up it’s all good, but Lord knows when we’re down it feels like, “what is going on?” I remember continually praying for something and not hearing anything back. On the other hand, I keep having the word patience come to mind. This season I am in now is not the end of all for me. I know that God has more for me, just like He has more for you. Wait on Him, because He is the only one who knows what you need and when you need it. Continue to pray until something happens, and trust and believe He will see you through. Just remember He has His hands on you, and this too shall pass.
On Saturday I watched the anticipated LSU vs Alabama game. This game so competitive that it had me at the edge of my seat. These two teams played their hearts out to prove they were the best. Even though it was a nerve wrecking game, there was a lot of emotion on the field, and it was not a championship game. We all have dreams and goals, and when things don’t work out how we planned, whose to blame?
Going back to the football game, there was a lot of emotions on and off the field. However, when it comes down to the last few minutes of the play, it shows the tenacity and perseverance to withstand the game. You have had the crowd cheering you on, and then you focus your attention on what’s going wrong. During the game you lost your momentum and try to keep going, but you worry how to get your head back in the game. So what is next? The time is dwindling down, and you have to make a play. You tell yourself, “either go big or go home”. Focusing on the next play, you realize this is it, and I have to make this one for the team. Nevertheless, your plan did not make it. Whose to blame?
Looking around you see the other team and their fans celebrating their victory, and you can’t because you feel that you have let yourself and your team down. Replaying the game in your mind makes you think of all that went wrong. It makes you look elsewhere when you focus on the problem of not winning this game. Thankfully, there is another day to get up and work harder on your game and be ready for the next one.
